Comrades! Intel on "Siege of Khe Sahn" is ready!!!

Check also daurwids intel collection out and bookmark the link to his website:
http://bf.daurwid.com/vietnam/vietnamintel/

Overview - Siege of Khe Sahn

F4 - NVA Airfield - Ca Lu Bridge

E5 - Flag - Old French Fort

D5 - Flag - Village

C5 - Flag - Lang Vei

B4 - Flag - Hilltop

D3 - US Airfield - Khe Sahn

General Strategy:
Arrow Notice that the US Airfield at D3 (Khe Sahn) has an Area Value of 60 while all other flags have an Area Value of 20. That means controlling Khe Sahn/US Airfield is equal to controlling 3 other flags!!! All the flags have an Area Value that sums up to 160 points and I guess we need 100 points (more than 80) to start the bleed. I.e. 5 flags w/o the US Airfield OR the US Airfield plus 2 other flags. BFCOs take this into consideration when you discuss the strategy!!!
Arrow Notice that this map has two mobile spawn points ("tunnel exits"). Those mobile spawn points are an element of surprise and therefore of significant strategic value. They can make the difference when it comes to capturing/defending a flag succesfully. Bear in mind that those mobile spawn points can be spotted and destroyed by the enemy (One granade and they are down) ... That's why we have to decide very carefully where to place them. The guys who are supposed to do that job (VC and BFCOs ?), please make suggestions on where to place them. Once a "tunnel exit" is destroyed it respawns after a while (1 minute) but only if the flag where it respawns at is in possession of the NVA.

General stragtegy on where to place mobile spawn points:
Arrow In dark and/or hidden places like bushes, amongst trees
Arrow Not in a direct line of sight with enemy flags and attack routes
Arrow In save distance to the nearest enemy flag. Waves of amassed attacking NVA soldiers constantly pouring in from the same direction will alert the enemy for certain.
Arrow Tunnel exits cannot be dug in buildings (unconfirmed info)

Due to lack of time I need help on the following things:
Arrow At the Flag at B4 (Hilltop) are three artillery guns which could possibly be used to pound the US Airfield. Somebody please provide the "Cloud Spots" for the arty and post them in this thread!!!
Arrow Somebody please help me with optimal locations for the mobile spawn points ("Tunnel Exits").

Br@!N,
Over'n'out!

Hey guys!
Here's a strategy update. After thinking about the map, I came to the following, very simple conclusion:

Arrow The army who is able to hold the flag @ D3 i.e. the US Airfield - Khe Sahn will win the round.
Arrow Period.
Arrow End of discussion.

Here's the explanation why:
As you all know, there are two possibilities to reduce enemy tickets and win the battle: Killing 'em and/or make 'em bleed. Make 'em bleed is by far more efficient. The bleeding starts if one army holds the majority of "Flag Points" AND NOT the majority of flags. What does this mean? Each flag area has a certain value which is

Arrow 20 points for "F4 - NVA Airfield - Ca Lu Bridge"
Arrow 20 points for "E5 - Flag - Old French Fort"
Arrow 20 points for "D5 - Flag - Village"
Arrow 20 points for "C5 - Flag - Lang Vei"
Arrow 20 points for "B4 - Flag - Hilltop"

and now it comes

Arrow 60 points for "D3 - US Airfield - Khe Sahn" Exclamation

The sum of all flag points is equal to 160 and the bleed starts if one side has hold on more than half of the flag points. On Khe Sahn this is 100 points or more. This can be achieved by controlling 5 or more of the regular flags or by controlling the "US Airfield - Khe Sahn" plus any two other flags.

On a gaming level which is as organized as in this tourney and with players who are as good as some on the US side, I wouldn't even start thinking about controlling 5 out of 6 flags. This means the only feasible solution is to try to get grip on "D3 - US Airfield - Khe Sahn" (although no airplanes/choppers respawn there if controled by NVA) and to hold two other flags. I'd go for "F4 - NVA Airfield - Ca Lu Bridge" because of the airplanes/choppers and the next best/easiest to defend.

Br@!N,
Over'n'out!
